Peppermint

Peppermint or Mentha Piperita, belongs to the Labiatae, Laminacee. Together with the spearmint has been used since antiquity as calming and soothing agent. Their effectiveness is similar, although peppermint is more powerful.

The essential oil, 35-55% of menthol, menthol' esters, oxidase and peroxidase enzymes, Vitamin C. These ingredients give the slightly antiseptic and refreshing properties.

Peppermint leaves contain flavonoids for a soothing and anti-reddening action.

Cosmetics use its refreshing, toning and cleansing action and its mild antiseptic action, including Peppermint extract into detergents for mixed and normal skin, even if sensitive and delicate.
